Dr. Abasilim is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at UIC's School of Public Health. His work focuses on contributing to a greater understanding of the impact of exposure to environmental and occupational chemicals on the development of chronic diseases. He uses biomarker measurements to study the relationship of chronic diseases with environmental and occupational toxicants in high-risk groups including farmworkers. He also leverages multiple data systems for surveillance of health outcomes in various workforces to inform public health interventions.
