About
Maggie Acosta is a Senior Research Specialist in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at UIC. She is trained in medical anthropology and works on community-based public health efforts. Maggie has collaborated with public health departments, nonprofits, and grassroots movements to do research, community capacity building, and advocacy. She brings this experience to the Great Lakes Center for Farmworker Health & Wellbeing where she is involved in outreach, research, and center administration. Maggie is fluent in Spanish and is a second-generation immigrant.
